Radiant Roofing finished a new roof installation in Newbury OH, not far from Punderson State Park. This home had an older shingle roof that had reached the end of its life, and the owner wanted a full new roof instead of another round of patch repairs. Our team handled the whole job, from tearing off the old shingles down to putting on a fresh layer of new shingles and flashing on top.

New Decking And Underlayment Before The Shingles Go On
Before any new shingles went down, we checked the roof decking underneath for soft spots or water damage and replaced what needed it. Once the decking was solid we rolled out a synthetic underlayment across the whole roof, with extra ice and water shield in the valleys and around the chimney where water tends to collect. This layer is what protects the wood deck if any water ever gets past the shingles, and skipping it is one of the quickest ways a roof starts leaking again to soon.
New Flashing Around The Chimney
The brick chimney on this house got new flashing around the base, which is the metal that seals the gap between the chimney and the shingles. Old flashing like the kind that was on this roof before can rust or pull away over time, and thats usually where a roof starts to leak first. We fit new flashing around the chimney and the vent pipe nearby so water has nowhere to get in.
