Full Roof Replacement with OC Duration Onyx Black in Wellington OH
A homeowner near the historic Wellington Town Square called Radiant Roofing when their Victorian era home needed a full roof replacement. The damage was serious and required structural deck repairs before anything new could go on.
Radiant Roofing is locally owned and operated, licensed, bonded and insured, with years of experience on older homes in Northeast Ohio. We are a proud member of the Cuyahoga East Chamber of Commerce.
The four photos show how far gone this roof was. The fourth photo shows actual holes through the deck into the attic, with rotted framing and failed flashing. The first photo shows two crew members cutting new lumber to sister in the damaged rafter areas before sheathing could go down. The second shows the Victorian home from the street with a motorized shingle lift running materials up to the steep multi plane roof. The third shows the company trailer on the gravel drive with a stacked drip edge and Owens Corning Duration Onyx Black bundles ready to go.

Is It Worth Replacing an Old Roof or Just Patching It
People often ask if its worth replacing an old roof or just patching it. On a house like this, patching was no longer an option. When the deck has holes and the framing is rotted, new shingles wont fix whats underneath. Fix the structure first, then install a quality product like Duration Onyx Black.
If you own an older home, have the attic inspected before your next replacement. A contractor who only looks at the shingle surface can miss structural damage underneath. Catching rotten decking or failed framing early avoids costly surprises.
